Professor Ronald Harmon is Professor Emeritus of Spanish and Portuguese at California State University, Fullerton, where he continues to teach classes in Hispanic language, literature, culture and linguistics. He is an expert in South American history, culture, language, and literature, and has traveled extensively in Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Peru. He served as the coordinator of the Latin American Studies Program at California State University, Fullerton.

    After visiting the poet Pablo Neruda’s hillside house at Isla Negra journey to Valparaiso with its cluster of crazy houses.  Enjoy lunch in the modern resort city of Vina del Mar. (BL)

    Fly to Temuco, learn about the Mapuche Indians at the regional museum and visit the central market before driving to Pucon in the heart of the Chilean lake district. (BL)

    This morning board a catamaran via the Fjord Ultima Esperanza to the Glacier Serrano where there will be time to explore.  From there, take a zodiac via the Rio Serrano to Torres del Paine National Park.  (BL)

    Tour this magnificent national park with its varied lakes, waterfalls, lagoons and abundant wildlife.  (B)
